Mireille Gomes

Mireille Gomes, PhD, is the Associate Director of Strategy and Innovation at the Centre for Global Health Research at St. Michael’s Hospital and University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Gomes is currently leading cause of death statistics strengthening efforts in Ethiopia, Mozambique and Sierra Leone. Her primary area of research interest is improving Artificial Intelligence techniques for predicting causes of death.

Previously Dr. Gomes completed her PhD in Computational Biology at the University of Oxford, and has worked in Canada and abroad on Health Information Systems for organizations such as the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the World Health Organization.
