Mirkka Mattila is a Regional Child Protection Specialist in charge of CRVS in UNICEF West and Central Africa Regional Office. She is leading UNICEF’s regional programme on birth and civil registration and has successfully contributed to the transformation of CRVS system building agenda in West and Central Africa. She is one of the co-founders of the sub-regional CRVS Core Group for Francophone countries that provides targeted and coordinated support in the region from key partners such as UNICEF, UNECA, AfDB and WHO.
Mirkka has over 10 years of experience in international advocacy, coordination and management of global development programmes with IOM and UNICEF in both Europe and Africa. She holds a Master’s Degree in Global Development Studies from the University of Helsinki, Finland.
